A handful of our states are infact as big as your countries. I have been to a ton of cities in europe as well. I could list all the cities I have been to and probably get banned from the forums for an excessive post.

My country is Canada, and you don't see me listing the provinces I've been to.

I'm just wondering why this is so typical though. Everyone (or maybe it's just the Americans) list the States they've been to, but nobody lists the provinces they've been to in Canada (or Australia for that matter.)

Edit: Just saw your post Isenetfret.

I apologise for assuming.

Americans like Isetnefret said thinks of their states like their own little country so it's natural for us to list other states because in reality a majority of people don't cross state lines in the lifetime.

BTW, BC is the shit...I have friends in Kamloops :D

Re: Where are you from? Where have you been?

I just figured that since you only have like...a dozen or so, you'd been to them all.

Have you been to Quebec? (Province, not city) It's fucking huge. That's worthy of being listed separately...

Also, if you are from BC or Alberta, are you identical to someone from Quebec? Are there certain characterstics that might set someone from Quebec apart from someone living in Alberta or BC?

People from Canada who don't list the provinces they've been to are doing so because......??

I visited many prefectures in Japan....I don't list them, because COMBINED, they are smaller than Missouri.

Also, to borrow Stephen Colbert's JOKE (people fucking EXPLODE because they think this is serious) "The United States has 50 states.....that's more than Canada and Mexico...combined!!! Clearly, we're better."

My great uncle is a Catholic priest in São Paulo. I've always wanted to visit. He sends me stuff from time to time.

Re: Where are you from? Where have you been?

I'm ignorant, is Quebec close to Maine? Going to Maine in September and I'd love to cross the border. I've only been to one province in Canada, and it's BC. Vancouver was the shit, so much fun. Aergis and I went on a little Smallville filiming location hunt and found Luthor Corp., The Daily Planet, Kent Farm, Smallville Main Street.

From Southern California, but now from Washington State (not to be confused with Washington D.C.)
------------------------
Nevada (Vegas Baby)
Oregon
Hawaii (Waikiki Beach)
New York
New Jersey
Florida (Disney World)
Georgia (Pit Stop)

Countries
--------------------
Canada (just BC)
Mexico (all over Mexico, though mostly to Zacatecas state cuz my grandparents are there. Oh ya TJ SUCKS)

Re: Where are you from? Where have you been?

The province touches Maine, yes. The city is across a body of water (I can't be assed to remember or look up which one).

Depending on which part of Maine you're in (it's a fairly large state), Quebec the city could be pretty "close".

Re: Where are you from? Where have you been?

I do. Consequence of five years of necessary voice communication. It leads to funtimes on the international hotels here when the new guys aren't trained and you happen to pass by as the tourist is screaming loud "Why the fuck can't I speak with someone?"
