You're all tanks. That should be the end of the issue right there. If any merit is involved in the future, the gear should go to whosoever is deemed the main.

Really hoping, with 2.3, the lines will be blurred enough to really chip away at the old views of tanks.

Well, I personally would have passed the item to MT Warrior, cause no matter how you look at it, "later" your guild will have a Warrior MT on most bosses. Also, if your guild lost 2 tanks now cause of that, your going to fall behind in progress. Your guild will need at least 3 good tanks to do good progress after Karazhan.

It's such a shame warriors were allowed to tank kara without 490 defense.
They have no issue being crushing immune. btw, when you're crushing immune, you're also uncritable.
Warriors have much more ease with gearing, it's a real shame.

Moreover, if you were about random and you win, I see no issue.
You took time to gear yourself, they didn't. This is not a good reason why they should take precedence on you.

Wasn't about the english or the term, I was referring to that with their 2 charges on shield block Warriors always take a crushing here and there, except maybe on the slowest hitting bosses like Gruul. Seen warriors take crushings on HKM cause of the arc swing, Magtheridon, Magtheridon Channelers, Prince Melthizar etc.

You did your guild a favor, warriors are a dime a dozen.

These guys had a sense of entitlement unworthy even for warriors.

How dare they show up to a guild raid, not even crit immune. I mean WTF, it's completely easy and after that they pretty much don't need to even think about gear ever again.

Thinkabout it this way, if they were willing to deguild for a crapy bracer, how much other drama they would be willing to create.

This is why my guild likes having me as an officer.

They are all dps/healers and none of them know about the technical aspects of tanking, because they don't need to. As we've all experienced - even a lot of tanks don't really know how tanking works.

So I get the great pleasure of saying to new initiates (usually warriors)
"I hope you're not planning on tanking bosses with your 476 defence"
From there I go on to educate them as to how tanking works - ie crits and crushes..

I'd take the time to post on your guild forums (if you have them) about how crits and crushings work and next time an undergeared tank complains - point them to it. If you don't have a forum - send your guild master /raid leader here to ask any questions he might have.

Very Happy

If they're willing to /gquit because a tank won tanking bracers, then they would not have served your guild well in the future. If you're just starting Kara, there's not much use in figuring out who will benefit most from a dungeon blue to epic raid drop - they're going to be huge upgrades for everybody.

That said, I am in favor of giving out upgrades where they will see the most use/benefit - but you also need to keep the guild's interests at heart. If you've got tanks walking into Kara with sub-490 defense, those tanks have already failed their guild.
