cool.

Can we also do something about the combat ratings section?

Going over the tanking comparison section...

In that last paragraph it mentions that both BoSalv and BoP reduce a person's threat. I am assuming that that really only applies to BoSalv, since BoP does nothing towards the threat value. Perhaps it would be wiser to take BoP out of that sentence and either make a separate comment about it being a good backup to taunt, or leaving it out entirely if that makes the section too complicated.

EDIT: Also in the section on warriors, it mentions that druid threat is primarily multiplicative (like a paladin's). I thought that changed in 2.1 or thereabouts when they reduced/removed some coefficients and added in a base threat addition (in Maul for example).

Lore's rework of the brief class overviews has been updated. I also updated on my Word copy the grammatical inconsistencies and typo's that fud pointed out, but I'm too lazy to comb through my board post copy to make the corrections there for those as well. Rest assured fud, I made the changes.

The guide is looking good, I'm feeling that it might be ready for public posting. I'm going to give it another once over on my Word copy and then double check for more comments here. Feel free to nitpick, I'll correct just about anything you guys want.

again, I'd like to advocate removing this paragraph, as it is inaccurate and misleading.

Sabs how is it misleading? The way I read it, Gestalt was saying that ratings have diminishing effects as you level, which is true, and that you shouldn't get too hung up on your tanking stats while leveling.

I'm inclined to agree with Baelor.

In talking things over with Lore, a lot of the info Gestalt had in the original guide is redundant or inaccurate. It's a behemoth of a guide, 26 pages in MS Word before page breaks get inserted to separate posts. There are going to be some major revisions made and I'll probably post a completely new draft later today.

Weather's bad in NY, heading home early. I'll be back with you all when I get home.

One issue I've run into in editing Gestalt's guide is his analysis of Avenger's Shield. Lore and Sabs had a discussion earlier in this thread of his comparison of AS to Intercept and Feral Charge. I'm not entirely convinced that this is an accurate comparison. I'm opening this up to public discussion: what do you guys want to say to novice tankadins concerning Avenger's Shield? I'm going to scrap most of Gestalt's comments on the ability and compile a more suitable one from the discussion here to replace.

EDIT: Also, I need someone to double-check the spell coefficients in Appendix B and supply me with an accurate coefficient for SoV/JoV and SoB/JoB. Proc rates for SoJ, SoW, SoL, JoW, and JoL would be nice as well for completeness-sake.

Version 2 of Tankadin 101 - updated is now on the boards. I made several notable changes and deletions, corrected some inaccuracies in Gestalt's original text, and attempted to reduce the size somewhat by eliminating redundant information and extraneous lengthy prose about Blizzard's evolution of paladin tanking. Continue positing your analysis and comments in this thread, based upon the new version, found here: http://maintankadin.failsafedesign.com/viewtopic.php?t=4690
