Libram and Totem QQ and Gripes

I was reading 1 of the other threads and saw a comment about how poorly implimented librams and totems (as in Relics) were implemented. Something that has always pissed me off is how every class that can equip ranged weapons of whichever kind can get stats and equip bonuses that are great for their classes and specs where as Pallys, Shaman and druids get a single equip bonus and no damn stats, atleast put some of 1 of our biggest stat for whichever spec the relic is made for on the damn thing already.

It depends. The badge libram for retribution is better than anything a DPS warrior or rogue could equip so I think when done properly they can be effective. It just requires Blizzard to design them properly which they unfortunately rarely do. That's particularly glaring as protection where the choices are so poor whilst the warriors get an easy to obtain stamina trinket in that slot.

My main gripe with librams is that they sometimes have good ideas... but horrible implementations. Increased block value for 4 seconds from an ability with, at its best, an 8 second cooldown. Who the hell thought that up? Even worse, a libram that grants you resilience for 6 seconds after a holy shield use. LOL?

It's not like the other classes really get decent stuff either. I know moonkins were looking forward to finally getting badge gear and an idol designed just for them. Turns out, it's not that great. Even worse, Blizzard decided to make it even worse by adding a hidden cooldown to the item.

Did librams exist pre burning Crusade? I didn't get a single libram till Nagrand(and am still using it, the next upgrade will probably be the repentance).

They came a bit before BC, something like patch 1.12, but Blizzard never really added them to pre-60 content. If I remember correctly there is two epic librams in AQ40 and Nax, three blue in BRD, Dire Maul and Scholo and one BoE world drop blue.
