Ratanna's Best-in-Slot WotLK Guide.

I like the idea of this guide, I would welcome more of the same for other professions.

Out of simple curiosity what are the stats you get by using this list?

1. Why is the *Meta - 32 Stamina, 2% Spell Mit rated as best meta gem, while it is the third best.

Judging from all the highend content up till WotlK, avoidance is the answer in 5% of the cases, the other 95% mitigation > avoidance

Pumping everything into avoidance is never ever the answer so it shouldn't be referred to as the best option in a "Best-in-slot" topic, especially the meta is a gimmick one.

There are two encounters in game at the momment where having a set of avoidance is a advantage over mitigation , those two are Saphiron and Malygos wich can and have been tanked by people without this kind of gear

So the question is , do you gear for 2 bosses or do you gear for everything else and to have more threat aswell ? at the time you will have four pieces of tier 7 25 man everything will be piss easy anyway ( if you die your healers just suck )


Also with diminishing on avoidance it IS the best idea to try and spread your stats as much as posibile

That being said I agree with most on his/her list save for a few things

: meta gem , chest and second ring

A better meta would be the 2% armor one if ya want something with stamina fact is fact most dmg from bosses is not their spells its their phisical attacks

While a chest with avoidance is good the fact is you would get more from the tier 7 one due to diminishing returns

Same goes for ring , badge one is better

So finaly this list gives a good insight , but I would ask moderators to not sticky this , its simply not the only way to go and its definitly not the best one

P.S. I know Sartharion could be counted as a slow hitter but he is so pathetic that it does not matter what kind of gear you use to tank him , that is until you get 1+ adds with him and then due to the buffs he gets a tank with bigger mitigation is better then one with avoidance
