Saronite Plated Legguards vs T8

Only reason to hate saronites (gief!), is that i were so looking forward to tanking in T8 graphics, only to see these stats on saronites.

So once they finally drop, i can't see rolling for T8 before no one else needs it for main spec.

Armor, i likes it (wtb leviathans coil too, even in the nerfed/underbudgetted form).

got mine friday along with shoulders from xt, sooo glad i got them didnt fancy the jokes from the other tanks in guild about tanking in a skirt, jokes a side these legs rock the arour is nice and so is the avoidance imo this is what the call a win-win situation, will only roll on T8 now for off spec.

T8 are well itemized but saronite plated kicks their ass.

I think people keep underestimating armor and its effect. This first thing to mitigate the 50k attack from the boss to you is the armor, then its all the other damage reduction talents and the block.

That's a bit misleading since order, outside of absorptions and blocks, doesn't matter because percentage reductions are multiplicative.

Not directly connected but related - judging from a MT's persective, I just don't see at least progression wise the value of Mimiron's Inferno Couplings, Shard of the Crystal Forest, and Shoulderplates of the Deconstructor. Obviously alot of lists feature the Valorous Redemption shoulders above XTs for such purposes (That makes sense) but it would seem to me that a neck such as Mark of the Unyielding would be much better than the shard and Mimiron's don't seem to work into the equation much either.... am I missing something here? While there might be small threat gains, there's losses in everything else. Could see them for a threat set but even in my frost resist gear solo tanking I only had one person even get within 70 percent of my threat (shadow priest managed to actually pull off, he was at 9k or more dps and we had a flash freeze with all the snow banks on the opposite side of the room so I had to run away from the boss.... and he didn't stop dpsing....

You don't gain many stats on any of the items you listed.

T7 vs. Deconstructor Shoulders:

• +3 Sta (Solid Sky Sapphire in the Valorous)
• +16 Str
• +38 Armor
• +7 Defense
• +7 Dodge
• +43 Hit
• -39 Parry

In my opinion Deconstructors better stats outweigh the 39 Parry you gain with the Valorous. (factor in DR and 39 Parry isn't that much)

Bracers of the Knight vs. Mimirons Couplings:

• -2 Sta (Solid Sky Sapphire in the Bracers)
• +22 Armor
• +1 Defense
• +21 Dodge
• +36 Hit
• -2 Str
• -26 Parry

Mimirons clearly win in every aspect.

Mark of Unyielding vs. Shard:

• +6 Sta
• +6 Dodge
• +42 Hit
• -18 Str
• -336 Armor

Toughest decision. Mark is really really nice and the 336 Armor could be better than the little Dodge and massive Hit.

I love the Ulduar pieces and am wearing them in all my MT Sets. Running around with more than 200 Hit is just so much easier. If you miss a taunt on Thorim or Transition on Steelbreaker Last, these pieces alone could have made up for it.
In Naxx this wasn't a problem, on Ulduar Hard Modes it can be!

I think that these pieces cost you less overall Stats than pieces on other item slots like Girdle (BoE vs. Emblems), Gloves (Freya vs. Emblems), Boots (BoE vs. Ignis) and Shield (Hodir 10 Hard vs. Hodir25). Last but not least, there aren't +Hit items on every slot.

I'm a stamina whore, so I'll probably end up wearing T8.5 shoulders for my default setup then switching out T8.5 legs for Saronite.

Just as I think the T7 robot fever has ended and we can have some tier set with decent look, we ended in dressing skirt with yet another robot head... Blizz really has a very good sense of humor.

T8, 8.5 legs are absolutely great, but I really still can't persuade myself to dress like that. After the next reset, I decided to piss off every other tank and bid on the Saronite Leggings. Enuff said.
