Resistance Gear - Wotlk

Yup, its back. The Wrath Resistance gear thread. This thread has *only* items that are in Wotlk, that being said you can still make use of the old items which can be found in the Pre-Wrath Resistance Gear Thread.

With a resistance set you need 2 things, to hit the resistance and defense cap which are:
# 415 Resistance (of that specific resistance)
# 540 Defense (Uncritable)
# ??? Resilience (Uncritable) (If anyone has the math for how much resilience will lower the defense rating, please pm me)

Now, getting the resistance cap now is incredibly easy, simply factor in one of the aura that you can easily get in a 25 man raid (and hopefully a 10 man) all you need is 285. Take the frost epic items, those 3 armor pieces + aura = 417 which means you can focus on getting uncrittable. Which will be the greater challenge that getting resist capped.

Seeing this makes me to believe that you wont need an aura with the additional crafted gear and enchants that are available which would fit into blizzards whole idea of brining the player and not the class. However in most raids i expect there to be at least a shaman, or a paladin which will cover a large % of the resist aura.

There are also a number of green items that are boe that do have stamina and resist on them that can be added to supplement the gear sets but aren't added to the list.

Do some Northrend bosses rely heavily on frost attacks? Otherwise, it is hard to see why we have icebane and no other type of epic resist sets. The icebane gear looks very nice (although woefully without defence).

atleast they have sockets, unlike the badge fire resist from BC. that didn't have defense rating.

How much does acclimation add (Frost DK talent) anyone know?

Wondering if that was more than our aura when combined with the frost aura from DK. I assume Acclimation won't stack with our auras?

Bosses to consider resist gear for(in small to moderate amounts):

Naxx10 KT. Frost, to soften those 10k frostbolts a bit.
Naxx25 KT. Frost, only if your interrupters suck.
Sath10,25. 1+drakes up. Fire/Shadow depending on if you are tanking Sath/otherDrake.
EoE10,25. Arcane breath hits really hard. Kara trintet +DK aura is a realistic minimum for entire raid. Consider seperate Helm with 2% spell damage reduction meta and AR enchant for 25 man.

i'm going to be keeping an eye on this thread as new content peeks in on the horizon to see what i need to snag.

also, might want to add in the LW fur linings. granted they're BoP, but still a good chunk of resist from a good tanking profession (god i cant believe im saying that about lw lol).
