3.2 LoO BiS?

On-Use Block Value Items: All items and set bonuses that trigger temporary increases to block value have been modified. Instead of increasing their block value amount by 100% like other items, they have all had their effect durations doubled. This applies to Glyph of Deflection, Gnomeregan Autoblocker, Coren's Lucky Coin, Lavanthor's Talisman, Libram of Obstruction, Tome of the Lightbringer, Libram of the Sacred Shield, the tier 8 paladin Shield of Righteousness bonus, the tier 5 paladin Holy Shield bonus, and the tier 5 warrior Shield Block bonus.

As always changes are never final until patches are released live. However I believe that BV was a long awaited changed and I'm very positive it'll not change.

standard 969 rotation

0 - Holy Shield
1.5 - ShoR
3 - Judgement
4.5 - HotR
6 - Consecration
7.5 - ShoR
9 - Holy Shield
10.5 - HotR
12 - Judgement

There is a 9 second distance between judgements meaning IF LoO gets double duration it'll ALWAYS be up. Meaning 352 BV vs 272 BV from LotSS.

I could be getting ahead of myself but for those of us that sold it might be wise to buy it again. We don't of course know of any new librams in the new instances but entering I'd say LoO is superior.

Agree/Disagree?

I do want to add that due to the BV change perhaps it'll DOUBLE the effect on LotSS. It is very likely if it is changed then LotSS will stay BiS.. if so my apologies for thinking ahead.

Re: 3.2 LoO BiS?

Assuming no changes are made to Libram of the Sacred Shield, or additional changes aren't made to Libram of Obstruction (reduced block value), then yes, it will once again be best in slot.

Re: 3.2 LoO BiS?

Yeah, I came to the same conclusion as you.

Damn shame to maybe have a ilvl200 better than 226....

Let's see what they do!

Re: 3.2 LoO BiS?

It doesn't make any sense why they would buff the SBV on an ilvl200 libram (obstruction) and leave the ilvl226 libram (sacred shield) unchanged :P
They list Libram of Sacred Shield in that list, so the duration is doubled, that doesn't make any sense though, so I expect an update from Blizzard on that soon.

It's an oversight, they do these all the time. Expect it to change though it may not change quickly.

Re: 3.2 LoO BiS?

The new libram looks godly - so no. (I expect that to be changed tho)

Re: 3.2 LoO BiS?

There's nothing particularly stopping you from using all 3 librams assuming the trend remains where you retain the buff after swapping it out. If you use macros and good sense, you can already use the current two together.

Re: 3.2 LoO BiS?

Libram swapping is supposed to reset the swing timer If I remember correctly but toss in the new ret libram and you could get some crazy stuff going to counter the threat loss.... But then again the loss will almost certainly be too large with the new SoV.

Could get 936 BV post redoubt out of it though.

Never heard (conclusively) of it resetting the swing timer, but 936 BV is pretty hot if there's another "steelbreaker" or otherwise max mitigation fight.

This has been the case with in-combat gear swaps since WoW classic. (patch 1.7)

Oh dear! Don't reset our swing timer!

I expect the loss would be made up for by a the huge SoR hits. That and I'm not having threat problems at the moment (yeah, our DPS needs to step it up).

Re: 3.2 LoO BiS?

I thought swapping gear also triggered a GCD now? Or is that just for weapons?

It does, but it's not limited by GCD. So a macro like:

/cast Judgement of Light
/equip New 3.2 Libram

would let you judge, get the LoO buff, then HotR immediately afterward for the 3.2 libram buff. You could then macro Libram of the Sacred Shield into HotR in the same way and get that buff when you Holy Shield, and have HS swap to the Judgement libram.

The problem is that the 969 rotation would mean sometimes you judge, swap to the HotR libram, and then ShoR instead. Then you HS with the HotR libram still on, HotR with the Judgement libram on, and Judge with the HS libram on.

It works fine when you're just alternating between the Judgement and HS librams though.
