Paladin Glyphs

It's more like assuming that Immolate will be used by shadow destro locks. They can do it, and it does damage, but is it worth casting?

Consecration will still be used in single-target, it's just a lower priority now. Just because we're not spamming max rank on cooldown doesn't mean it's as stupid as a caster blowing their precious limited mana pool on AoEs that would actually DECREASE their DPS.

Going with Fridmarr/Psiven on this one: if the opportunity cost time-wise to drop consecration is nil (due to everything else being on cooldown), then there's no reason not to consider it part of a max-threat-potential rotation. Max threat for a warrior assumes everything is heroic strike - only fair to assume paladin mana income would also be infinite for the max-output case.

For general purpose, you cut the least efficient spells/skills from the rotation first. For warriors that's HS, for paladins it's looking like consecration.

EDIT: It's worth noting that yes, both cases need to be considered and somewhat ballanced.

If you've seen the projected rotations, you'll have noticed that there aren't really many spare GCDs between judgements, seals, holy shield, SotR and HotR. Those few spare GCDs have to be spread between consecrate, AS, HW, Exorcism, and HoW towards the end of the fight.

Even if, out of those choices, consecrate was the best one, it's not really possible to keep it up fulltime, IIRC.

I never really saw a problem with consecrate being in our tanking lineup, whether it was single or multi target. It had to perform decently for aoe, because it was most of the threat going out to multiple mobs. Which was always going to make it non-trivial for single-target when we had GCDs to burn and nothing else to use.
