1) All Tier sets should be itemized for Main Tanking.
2) Non-set gear can be added to boost Off Tanking or AoE tanking.
Let's think about this for a second...
Why should we have a Monopoly on AoE tanking sets through our Tier gear?
Warriors will AoE tank as good (or currently better) as we will and they should be using similar gear to what we would.
Why deny them the opportunity to pick up an AoE tanking set?
This brings us to another issue, the presence of an AoE tanking Plate set that focuses on blocking also denies DKs and Druids a set of gear for that purpose.
If they truly want equality they need to either add 3 sets of AoE gear based on the 4 tanking classes or remove them altogether.
Lastly, "AoE" tanking set that focuses on BV could/will also be used as Threat sets by warriors and Paladins assuming they don't sacrifice Strength for added BV and it doesn't seems that that is the way things are itemized.
