To all the people complaining about the fact that caster weapons are a few % points more threat than tanking weapons...

(1) (fast) DPS weapons would be more threat for prot warriors than tanking weapons.

(2) They still use tanking weapons....

(3) Because they have mitigation stats on them! You know... instead of threat stats?

Using GC's numbers:
Some rough napkin math here but if warriors have 2% more buffed Hp than a paladin and the 1% more armor is armor count not reduction (ie negilible) then warriors will have 6.5% more EH preBlock.

1= paladin EH pre RF
1.02=Warrior EH pre DS
.94 is the amount to divide by to find paladin EH post RF
.90 is the amount to divide by to find warrior EH post DS

(1.02/.90)/(1/.94)=warrior EH/paladin EH=1.0653

This all pre block remember.

If had kept our previous stamina scaling we would have had about a 3% EH disadvantage.

A few people have said that blizzard looks and sees a few precentage point difference and says close enough but fails to realize that it compounds. This seems to be another such case.

I've been reading through her posts the last few weeks and frankly I'm a little bit nervous for the first time. I'm not convinced that having the lowest passive (armor + Damage Reducer) mitigation can be offset properly by a skill like blocking.

Take the druid for instance...According to one of her recent posts comparing stats, Druids had 10K more armor and 7K more health than warriors/pallys. I don't understand how we could possibly have enough block value to compete with that. Hell, given that they have a 12% damage reduction, I don't know how warriors are going to compete with that. They are clearly going to be taking the least amount of melee damage while having about 20% more health. Their spell damage reduction is just as good as ours too.

Anyhow, what concerns me are the mechanics at play. As the size of hits increases, the advantages of higher armor + higher percent reductions scale with those hits. Block Value doesn't, and if we somehow get enough BV to keep up, then the stuff that doesn't hit hard can barely damage us at all, I'm not sure how effectively this can be balanced. The tank that is worse against harder hitting bosses, isn't going to see much MT action when 25 man progression is going on.

The other thing that concerns me was her comment on spell damage.
