Patch vs expansion relase date

Now that Bliz has announced a release date for WotLK, do we have a rough idea of when the patch bringing the new mechanics will be released? My understanding is that the patch for BC came out a month ahead of the actual expansion. However, given how close the date set for the expansion release is, it's looking like they may have the patch come out closer to the xpac.

Any thoughts, speculations, hints from blue etc?

The 3.0.2 patch will probably still come out roughly a month before the release of Wrath, i.e. mid-October. The 3.0.2 patch is just a patch that introduces all the basic elements that Wrath will bring that isn't WotLK-specific; we can easily get another patch when WotLK is released.

I've been betting patch with coincide with Blizzcon.

I reckon mid October as well, gives people long enough to get used to the new stuff prior to full wotlk coming out.

ATM I just WTB the PTR coming back up. (wooh too many abbreviations there ^ ^)

Blizzard has stated that they want this patch to come out closer to WotLK than 2.0 did to BC.

My money is on the first Tuesday of November (that would be the 4th).
