New pieces have spell hit... RD now uses melee hit?

to further complicate things....

SoR can be Partially resisted, but not miss-resisted.
SoV Dot can be partially resisted, but not miss-resisted.
SoV 5 stack hit can be miss-resisted (not 100% sure about partial resist, the numbers are too small to tell)
JoR/JoV can be miss-resisted and partially resisted.
Consecration's first tick can be miss-resisted, and any tick can be partially resisted.
Holy Shield can be miss-resisted but not partially resisted.
Retribution Aura can be fully resisted and partially resisted, but cannot miss-resist.
Blessing of Sanctuary can be fully resisted but not partially, and cannot miss-resist.
Thorns and Fire shield can be partially and fully resisted, but cannot be miss-resisted.
Darkmoon card Vengeance and Ashtongue Talisman of Zeal can be fully resisted but not partially or miss-resisted.

It's a nice boost to threat sure and I am very happy that Precision has spell hit too now, but it's not like we have problem building aggro even with no spell hit.

Finally got around to doing my write-up on threat stats, found here:

Executive summary:

Spell damage is still our most valuable threat stat, and most Tankadins would be fine to ignore all the other threat stats except where hit rating is needed to prevent taunt resists. Critique is always welcome.

Spell Hit intrigues me on tanking gear as resists do hurt our threat generation, but unlike an offensive caster spell damage is still worth more for increasing threat generation to us in the majority of situations than spell hit. As such I'm torn.

Also making taunt work on melee hit is great. No matter how much you stack spell hit you will still have a lower resist rate with it on the melee hit mechanic. With talents that means you have a base 6% miss rate. I could easily cap that out with T6 gear on any fight that a taunt resist is fatal along the lines of a 4H. Whereas on the spell hit mechanic this would be next to impossible to achieve.

You need both... You need to connect with melee, AND the proc checks against spell hit (missed that in Joana's list there, but I don't use SoV that much)
