Belloc wrote:And, yes, if you have hard mode loot, you drastically over-gear and over-skill the fight. That perspective, however, does not apply to normal-mode content.

The problem is that my guild has not killed yogg yet we only have 3 towers, so we have no hard mode loot and we still roflstomped both of the bosses, I am a normal raider and my perspective is exactly the same of a hard core raider, it shouldn't be this easy normal mode or not.

Re: Week 2 Boss and Other Boss Order

I think the level of difficulty is embarrassing on blizzards part, this is supposed to be t9 not t7 supplemental. I'm not asking for anything ridiculously hard that requires any sort of raid stacking or incredibly strong raid dps to burn. I want something that is at least on par with the previous tier of difficulty, we should not be getting a massive step forward in gear by taking just as large of a step back in difficulty. If blizzard was fine with this stupidly easy level of difficulty then they should of released the hard mode right away instead of this stupid gating mechanic.

Second you state that "hardcore" raiders who massively out gear can't comment on difficulty and that they are not seeing things as they are. First of all why is your opinion more valuable than mine just because you are not doing hard modes? I am capable of comparing easy mode fights of different tiers and I'm also capable of making my opinion on what difficulty level they should be (I would think we would wipe once on the first two bosses that's not too much to ask for). As for the gear how is the same ilvl as the gear that drops from the instance "overgearing"?

But as some people only seem to care about the opinion of people who aren't in full hardmode ulduar loot, I'll say this as my shaman who is in naxx 10/25 gear its WAY too easy.

Re: Week 2 Boss and Other Boss Order

Regarding the "you think it's easy because you're outgearing it in hardmode gear": my terrible alt that I'm too cheap to enchant and gem properly tanked 10 man northrend beasts wearing level 70 gear (shield and 2 trinkets), a blue helm, old unenchanted pvp legs to make uncrittable via resilience, and a mix of epics from naxx10 and flame leviathan. Woo for 31k hp buffed and flasked and taking almost every hit to the face. The alts who were healing her had a hell of a time healing her fast enough to keep her alive, but they still managed it, which they'd not have had a hope in hell of doing in Ulduar or even parts of Naxx. All that meant was that the hardest part of the encounter was using a tank you wouldn't want tanking an 80 heroic nowadays. So no, it's not hardmode gear carrying people through content, the content really is undertuned for where it sits in progression.

Re: Week 2 Boss and Other Boss Order

Now that i woke up i reread what you were saying belloc and from what i could see your point was this.

"Make normal modes so easy that even guilds who are not dedicated raiders can clear the raid without knowing the strategy or what their class can do because they can't be bothered to improve or learn anything yet they want to get overpowered epics with almost minimal effort. Let the hardcore guilds do the hardmode (which from what i heard isn't even hard)"
Not knowing which classes can remove enrages or how to dps is a classic sign of, as someone said a "Special" raider. If they don't know how to play/raid they don't deserve to raid beyond naxxramas.

I'd have to agree with you about making "one" easy 25/10man raid instance in wotlk but THIS should be a step up from ulduar not a step down FROM naxxramas. Even in naxxramas we wiped a few times on most bosses on the first weeks but here... we have literally one shoted each boss each week with only 4 raiders dieing in the last 2 weeks. Combined from 10+25 (3 in 25, 1 in 10).
Even Post Major nerf ulduar is harder than this. Hell even razorscale is harder than this...

The only reason we are willing to "take this joke" is because it gives so massively overpowered gear compared to the difficulty.

For sure, if they are going to make Icecrown as easy or even easier than this raid instance most of the raiders from our guild promised to quit as did the 2 other raiding guilds worth mentioning on horde side. This is a slap in the face for anyone who finds high level raiding fun.

Re: Week 2 Boss and Other Boss Order

The heroic version might be fun though, but the normal version is just too easy. Hell, after doing the 25m we even one-shotted the 10man getting the 360 pain spike achievement (as well as our DPS not bothering to kill any infernals either, just nuked the boss)

Unlike when Ulduar hit (and we and other guilds in my server were posting kills as they happened on the forums) no-one cares or even bothered to post that they had one-shotted beasts and Jaxx. I think that tells a lot.

Re: Week 2 Boss and Other Boss Order

Well, Ulduar hard modes are still the standard progression path. At least until the heroic version of Coliseum comes out, then someone will have to figure out how to weight that and the new Tribute runs.
