[10/25] Faction Champions

Our 25 man strat.

Kill order Shaman, Paladin, Druid. One interrupter on the Pally and one on the Druid. One FoK rogue in between all three. Bloodlust and zerg them in that order.

One druid assigned to root/bash/cyclone the warrior. Ignore the other adds.

Once all the healers are down kill the pets first then rogue then warrior then dk then spriest then hunter save the warlock for last.

Adapt based on what you have to kill, our dps normally do about 4k in ulduar so it doesn't take very high dps to do this, cake mode fight.

Re: [10/25] Faction Champions

Only thing I can really add to this is that we had our healers/clothies stood back from the huge dust up and they yelled if any of the champions started heading for them, a DK would Death Grip it back into the gang bang or Chain of Ice it before it could reach them. Little more challenging than the first 2 bosses, took us 3 shots to get the mass CC down, but still pretty easy.

Re: [10/25] Faction Champions

Nothing here is tankable. I would suggest either loldps, put on healer gear, or respec. That said, your best skill here, as a paladin, is cleanse. Any damage or healing you do is really secondary to timely Hammer of Justices and Cleanse spam. In the 25-man, there is a Ret paladin, shadow priest, healer priest, enhancement shaman, warlock, rogue, and death knight to name a few. This means people will get hit by everything from psychic scream to chains of ice to dots out the wazoo. Removing diseases, poisons, and damaging dots is very important. As protection, you have a significant advantage in removing spells without worrying too much about unstable affliction due to your high HP and reductions. You are the ideal cleanse bot.

That said, if you insist on being protection for this fight, you are probably better served as a CC person instead of a DPS.
1. Talent Hammer of Justice for more stuns on healers.

2. Use Seal of Justice for a separate-DR stun.
-This really helps slow down the healing in general, or the damage on people.
-Once the seal is on DR, it's best to swap to a damage seal or swap targets for a while. If you're CCing a healer, invest in mouseover or [target=NAME] macros so you can still throw your other CC at him.

3. Do not glyph Avenger's Shield. Being able to silence 3 targets is very useful.

4. Cleanse like it's going out of style.

5. Sacred Shield can be helpful on a mage as they typically have low HP

6. Hand of Protection is very useful to save a clothie or healer if you see the DK, War, or Rogue near them.

7. It may be most beneficial to, on the pull, divine shield and Divine Sacrifice.
-This may be counter-intuitive to you, but you're in the CC role now and your damage is insignificant compared to the raid.

What your guild needs to win:
1. Totem Stomping (Windfury, Strength of Earth hurt)
2. A lot of cleansing
3. Stuns and kicks
4. Coordinated CC
5. A lot of movement impairment effects.

On 25-man I had more dispels than our mass dispelling priest last night (somewhere around 160 iirc). Just put up Divine Plea and melee the zerg target whilst you play whack-a-mole with debuffs. This is the way to win.

There it is. The only other thing we found super useful was offensive dispels, but with good CC that's not really required.

As a side note, we tried for the 60-second achievement kill, but missed it by a few seconds. We found it ridiculously easy to assign certain members of our raid to babysit certain NPCs. In particular...

DKs are awesome for melee classes
Locks are awesome for tree druids
Rogues are awesome for SPs/locks
Mages are awesome for anything pretty much

Re: [10/25] Faction Champions

How many of them do you face at a time? (for the 10man.. I don't see getting into a 25-man of this fight pretty much ever on my server).

Is it a 10-on-10? 2 waves of 10-on-5? Random 5 from the pool of available champions? Always the same ones?

Re: [10/25] Faction Champions

We did the 10 man. You face 6 opponents. We got Holy Priest, Resto Shaman, Boomkin, Rogue, Warlock with Fel Hunter, and Ret Paladin.

CC and blow up the healers. I went Ret (dual spec) and kept the Fel Hunter feared and dropped Stuns on the Boomkin and Paladin.

We one shot it. Most of my raid team are really good PVPers.

Re: [10/25] Faction Champions

On 10man you fight 6 champions. We had a holy priest, resto druid, mage, rogue, enhance shammie, and a warlock doing 10k per second hellfires while moving..

we just nuked both healers, killed the rogue then it was easy, spell reflecting the mage and warlock was fun.

Re: [10/25] Faction Champions

Just read RnD, god, the amount of (and nature of) crying people are doing over this fight is ridiculous.

WoW players are 80% tards, more sure of this than ever before. Throw them a fight where a little thing like aggro resets means you can't faceroll dps/heals while tanks hold mobs in place, and the dams burst on rivers of QQ about "I don't want to pvp in raids" and "my guild of 9 warriors and 1 priest can't stack 3 cc/purge classes, WTF blizzard".

My 10-man group encountered the same comp. We trained the resto druid and tried to CC as much else as possible using 2 frost traps, a sheep, a cyclone, and a hex. I was protection, thinking I could use taunts and such to keep one of the melee focused on me. That was a silly proposition - the enhance shaman was on me for probably 30-45% of the fight. I probably would have been better served as retribution and using Repentance on one of the targets.

Use your movement impairing effects to disrupt the melee, and your CC to put down either the healers or the caster DPS. Train the one you didn't CC or root.

Re: [10/25] Faction Champions

One thing we found really really helpful was taunting. They dont have an aggro table but they do fixate, we had me and the prot warrior in prot gear basically circling the raid and taunting anything that wasnt on drs. It works almost as well as a fear. It took us a few tries to get it down. When we worked it out we killed the dps first since they seemed to be gibbing our clothies, we also had to yell at the melee repeatedly that no casts should get off. We also had an ele shaman focus purging the kill target and shocking the pally whenever he got out of cc. Purging the kill target is key since earth shield, renew, and a shield make the thing a bitch to kill.

Re: [10/25] Faction Champions

On 10, we got the enh shaman, mage, tree, holy priest, lock, and rogue.

What worked was our shammy on cleansing/grounding/tremor totem and hero off the bat. Arms warrior kept up MS, prot warrior interrupted the hell out of the holy priest, I kept the melee off of the priests and totem-stomped. Improved SR, immediate hero, and grounding totem were huge here. We went felhunter -> tree -> priest and the rest was just a matter of keeping the rogue from ganking our priest.

Re: [10/25] Faction Champions

We did this last night, took about 5 tries until we realized that CC was more of an interrupt/buy some time thing instead of the typical PVE "hold 'em til you're ready".

We got resto shammy, holy priest, boomkin, ret pally, rogue and warlock with felhunter. First attempt was CC melee, zerg felhunter then healers. That didn't work, healers kept the felhunter alive. Then we CCed healers and went after felhunter. Not so much... CC breaks quickly then you're out of luck. So we decided to take down the priest first, have our rogue stunlock the shammy while we did that, then take down the shammy and then the felhunter. Then it was pretty easy.

I went holy, and our ele shammy/occasional off healer went full resto since he said he was pretty much just purging and healing anyway. So we had 4 healers and 6 dps. I HoJed the priest after the DK DGed it to us, the other holy pally HoJed after that wore off and with the shammy stunlocked he went down pretty quickly.

Oh, btw on one of our wipes the priest NPC went shadow at one point in the fight... sorta unexpected. I guess the shammy spamming heals was enough and he decided to help kicking our asses.

We all used our PVE gear (except for our PVP trinkets), but does anyone think that the resilience on PVP gear might help in this fight? Or do you think they tuned it so that it doesn't work as well (like with the nerfed AoE debuff)?

Re: [10/25] Faction Champions

We did this 25 last night and found it fairly ez. Dropped them on our 3rd try.

We had our lock chain banish the druid and had a rogue or shammy assigned to each healer to lock them down.

Our kill order was the warrior, rogue, hunter and after that i dont exactly remember. We mad sure to keep an MS up on our kill target.

We tried killing healers first on our first attempt, but found that the warrior and other dps were doing lots of damage to the raid.

As prot with a prot offspec i put up seal of justice and basically went around cleansing, chain taunting adds off healers and squishes, killing totems, stunning their healers, throwing avengers for interrupts, bopping, etc. Not a sexy job but being utility on the fight and taking care of those things helps the raid a bunch.

Was a pretty easy fight once you can keep their healers interrupted and locked down and have a good assist train going.

2 wipes later i got my
192 Stam Trinket Satrina's Impeding Scarab and Girdle of Bloodied Scars

Afaik resilience has no effect against mob damage other than reducing chance to be crit. I don't think people getting crit by these mobs melee attacks (their spells can't crit) is really a problem, so resilience shouldn't be any help.

The extra stam on the PvP gear might help though.
