Bubbletanking would be used around trash, Its not something I've used in quite some time, but its still out there in its own dark corner.

Aranbenjo, I've MT'ed for my Guild on both a Warrior, and a Paladin. These are my views, as a MT. Its frustrating to see a defense of "But this is from a MT PoV" when most of us are already in the position your attempting to fill.

I think the point everybody is trying to get across is that no matter how hard you try you're not going to find a place to put those 2 talent points that is in any way more beneficial to you than the situational uses of DG.

If you think you're going to literally be the only tank your guild ever has main tank anything you are crazy. I am going to be main tanking a lot of stuff for my guild, but when I first read the DG talent I immediately started thinking of all the great uses of it to benefit the raid. Most of the people on this site get joy out of not just being the main tank, but being part of a group of tanks, and having a talent that helps your fellow tanks do their job is never a bad thing.

I wasn't going to put it as harshly as Janduin, however I'd like to make sure that you do realize we are only trying to help. Us pushing so hard for you to justify your talent choices is a way that all of us can better ourselves, and therefore our Guilds.

If you can make a good justification for the Choice (other than "I'm going to be the MT") then maybe we need to be looking at our Talent Choices and adjusting accordingly.

Divine Guardian, because of its niche, will always be a disputed skill for Paladin Tanks. None of us like to have to pop a Bubble in the middle of the fight (and make sure its Macro'ed if you do! Get that aggro back with Avenger's Shield real quick...), but it does happen. Also on bosses where Damage could be coming fast and furious, without a Threat Table on the Boss.

In the end, it will all come down to preference.

And I apologize for being harsh. I don't mean to be negative or unfriendly, and maybe there is nuance that is getting lost through language differences, but it comes down to Ayka's point. We are here to improve ourselves and help others improve. Whether DG is better than imp HoJ or vice versa is going to be endlessly disputed. But we would be remiss in our responsibility to YOU if we didn't make crystal clear to you how DG is SOMETIMES useful for a MT to have, and if we (or maybe just me) are getting worked up about it it's mostly because your response comes across over and over again as "this talent sucks for a tank. go heal if you cant hack it" when most of us HAVE been MTing for a LONG TIME and have found many times when it is nice to have while MTing.

I think maybe we all need to define what we think Tanking is, as it seems we may have some different opinions as to the definition of a Tank.

Personally, I define the Tank (and Main Tank) to be a Player whom takes the responsibility to Protect, and Absorb Damage from the rest of the Group or Raid. I don't differentiate between Main Tank, and Off Tank in my definition, as both are equally important and required. I believe a Tank should be willing to help the raid in the maximum way possible, and be ready for every possible situation. I also believe a Tank needs to be the most researched, flexible, and understanding player in the entire Raid.

As such, Divine Guardian makes a whole lot of sense in my head because of its ability to Absorb ridiculously large amounts of Damage from the Raid in a very short period of time, especially during Phases or Bosses in which I would normally just be standing around with my Thumb up my Butt.

Perhaps you could define your view of a Tank Aranbenjo, as I believe that Janduin may come close to my own definition.

Like janduin was saying, if you feel that imp hoj is better go for it, but the fact is some fights only one tank is doing the brunt of the tanking.

One perfect example in wotlk is maexxna. If your not the tank actually tanking her, your probably just dpsing/doing web wraps/adds. If you pop dg on an enraged web spray you could potentially save the raid. I personally feel that this situational greatness is more important than making our 1 min c/d interrupt to a 30sec c/d.
