The Aqir wasn't used for the +parry, it was used for the huge armour buff.

If you used Aqir + ironshield potion you gained 5k armour, which was a lot on something like Kalecgos enrage, or Brutalus stomp (especially as the bonus armour wasn't halved like your actual armour)
