Clearing debuffs with divine shield.

Im wondering if its a really bad idea to make a macro that with two clicks would cast divine shield and then remove it on the second click. So that i could wipe any debuff off me.

/cancel divine shield
/cast divine sheild

ex. those roars that make you take 25% more dmg from the bear riders in ZA.

hopefully id lose aggro for such a short time that i wouldnt risk getting anyone killed.

also im not sure how to cancel a buff. /cancel divine shield isnt working for me.

No, on the contrary it's an extremely good idea, and one that many tankadins use. The macro you're looking for is:

#showtooltip Divine Shield
/cancelaura Divine Shield
/cast Divine Shield

Two clicks, like you said. Enjoy Smile

Also, if you spend some time browsing the forums or use the search function you will come across at least one Paladin macros thread Smile you might find other useful things there.

Canceling a buff isn't on a cooldown, so you can spam the macro and unless your lag is bad, people won't even know that you did it.

I do it occasionally when I get a static charge on Vashj while tanking, for example.

Its also handy to have on a boss that fears!

BOSS: FEAR
TANKADIN: LOL NUB (bubble/debubble)!

have any of you seen weird stuff happen while using that macro?
if i do it too quickly it basicly just dumps all my threat.
Like i cancel it too quick for me to get the threat back, it's fucking weird.[/b]

It doesn't cancel your threat, while you're immune the monsters know it and ignore you. That's why we macro a cancel-cast spammable sequence, to make that immune time as short as possible.Good to use preemptively while the monster is already casting the nasty debuff.

I found one that Bubbles you and cancels with one push so its only used to clear debuffs with another button for actual shielding.

one click the bubble comes and goes instantly. i suck with macros but it uses the cancelaura thing.

be aware: it wipes the AGGRO, but not the THREAT.
so, if a dps is at 101% at your threat, he'll get aggro and you won't retake it when you cancel DS buff.

I use the two click macro, but is there a way to to apply and cancel in a single click?
