Tanking Seals

So iv been reading alot of information relative to how to Effectively be a well geared and played Prot Paladin, Up till now all the things iv read have been very informative and helpful.

however there seems to be one thing that i have yet to be able to fully Clear up as far as tanking seals goes SOR VS SOB

Some say SOR is better other say SOB is Which one and why?

SoB Was usable back in the day with FULL warrior gear and SoB you would put out near decent threat.

Patch nerfed SOB threat for Retribution as it is a RETRIBUTION Seal and not a TANKING Seal.

: SoV wins for tanking 100% of the time.

So, Since a Recent Patch, In which SOB Was Nerfed. It is Now Considered to Be less Effective then Seal of Righteousness?

Also I'v Read that SoB is good for initial Agro since it can't be resisted but Due to Poor Scaling with Spell Dmg Sor is Considered Better. However this Brings to Question When does SoB's Poor Scaling Come into Play For example if you're SD is at or less then 200 SOB is better but...
If you're SD is equal to or better then lets say 300 SD SOR is a clearly better choice.

*Clarifying cause you somehow got into SOV

SoV needs a sluggish weapon to keep the stacks not fall off since it is a PPS seal, while SoB-SoR is a 100% chance on hit proc.

SoB is the best dps seal ingame for palas, SoR is the second best tanking seal (unless you have a very fast weapon) and SoV beats SoR if you have a ~1.7-1.9 speed weapon. Dont remember the exact math behind it but you can find the discussions easily by using the search function.

For tanking: SoV > SoR > SoB > rest

P.S. Judge crusader on a long fight, so you ramp up more threat

It might sound freakingly stupid, but non-native-speakers screw up capitalization in english quite often. I have to check every post twice to get all wrong caps.

Pulling info from one of the stickies and doing some math:

JoV and JoR cross over around 1k spell damage. Less than that, including stuff like JotC and Wrath of Air totem, and you'll get more threat out of JoV.

SoV and SoR cross over around 500 spell damage. Lower than that, SoV will be putting out more threat, above it, SoR.

Combining the two, you're looking at 750-800 spell damage after buffs as an estimate for a cutoff. SoV wins, if the fight doesn't force stack drops, on almost everything. For even more threat, JoV->SoR->SoV works, contributing extra holy damage from a few swings with SoR while your Holy Vengeance keeps ticking at full strength, and adding another seal self-buff for some extra threat as well.

It should then be noted getting over 800 spell damage is kind of trivial at tier 6 content level. Without spell damage in every spot you can have over 500 unbuffed, then 219 with JoC and 42 wizard oil. So at "minimum" you'll have 762.

..Though I'm a blood elf so it's kind of moot to me. I'll take my DPS seal over a second tank seal any day. (^_^)b
