Armor:Block Value Equivalents?

also remember that BV is now part of our aggro (with Shield hitting to 7K crit in raid, gaaaah).

My tip would be : try to keep BV pieces, and mitigation pieces, and change them depending on what you're tanking.

knowing that patchwerk hits me for 25K, I'd better stack armor, stam, dodge and parry (in this order).

When I'm in heroic dungeons, I'm stacking str/BV and BR, as it's far more interesting while mobs hits you for 1500/2000

Armour is also harder to stack, since there are few pieces we can choose with extra armour (Rings, Neck maybe, occasionally trinkets), and typically the armour comes traded off against stats we would really like (raw avoidance, block rating till cap). So it is even harder, because its not often a direct BV vs Armour (which is a simple analysis of the boss fight) but BV+Stuff vs Armour + Stuff, and from looking at every other class its hard enough to judge gear with a +Stuff let alone a hit dependent trade off.

Well said Nin. It's nice to get some sort of idea...you know, so you pick items on the fly, if the need arose (not that you looked up where everything you wanted come from and exactly what it's stats are). But, better yet, if you were ever confused about an item comparison, you could just ask.
