Mob Assumptions for Average Time until Death.

The addon that calculates the value of avoidance for me (tankpoints) is currently assuming that I'm getting hit for 10k (pre mitigation) per hit. This seems to be reasonably accurate for Naxx 10 man however it seems naxx 25 man bosses hit for approximately twice that and the Ulduar bosses might hit for even more.

So what would be a good assumption to put the damage at in order to optimally gear for progression raiding(25 man)?

So you think 20k is the assumption to gear for?

How boring, that assumption pushed Stamina to become better then block again.

Remember ardent defender kicking in is worth a lot, so more stamina is more mitigation when you need it most, too. (I don't think this is used in tankpoints?)

Block value is after mitigation which is what makes it so nice.

Anyhow as Elsie says tankpoints calculates how much 1 itemvalue (1.5 stamina or 1.54 blockvalue) adds to your average time until death (calculated in tankpoints, virtual average hp).

At 10k raw damage I could survive almost 10 hits which made blockvalue superior but at 20k raw damage I can only survive 3-4 hits which makes blockvalue a bit worse.

A nice thing about blockvalue is how at a certain point of raw damage (About 3k for me) it mitigates the entire damage you take giving you an ATTD of infinity.

Remember it actually gives you infinite TTL at quite a bit more than that, with ardent defender. You just go down to 35% HP and stay there.
