I was thinking th other day that if tanking works the same as it has for most of wow we might end up with a serious problem.
As gear increases normally avoidance and HP does as well, the problem i see with this is the higher our avoidance gets the less threat we get from holy shield because we are blocking less.
also gearing as a MT for progression normally avoidance is a big thing when it comes to gear the problem with this is a lot of our single target threat comes from ShoR but its damage is based entirely on 400+BV and avoidance gear doesn't have BV.
while minor more avoidance means less reckoning uptime which also, while minor, reduces threat
so if we gear for BV for threat as well as BR for more HS threat we will be taking quite a bit more damage than our tanking counterparts.
i feel that the fact that we dont get extra threat from our white damage is going to become a problem. we are going to have to gear ourselfs to have less avoidance just to maintain enough threat in T9 content im thinking.
Right now threat is non issue for the most part, in ulduar it will probabaly get close and in icecrown it is probably going to be an issue. it just seems to me that our major threat determiner is reverse to how we want to gear for later content.
maybe somebody can shed some light on this for me and maybe im just not seeing the future correctly but i dont think the increase on Str on gear is gonna be anough to make up the threat we are gonna lose as we gain avoidance
