The Tankadin Survey

Well, to start i'm going to say that I'm fairly competent in php/MySQL and HTLM/CSS.

I'm going to make a web site that has a series of questions, but the exact questions i'm unsure about. This survey is going to be for my guild/realm on their knowledge of the tankadin.

I'd like to start the survey off with something prettty general, along the lines of "tell me everything you know about paladin tanking" and a single text box with a 10k char limit (although this may be a little vague/lengthy). then proceeding from there, possibly have multiple choice (easier to graph/make stats of) questions regarding class mechanics, or maybe short answer (more specific). Figuring this out will probably be my first task.

Please post any suggestions here, also anybody interested in assisting me with creation, management (i have plenty of hosting available), data collection (again, technical stuff is taken care of), and statistical analysis feel free to pop in as well, or send me a PM.

I've discovered that most people have no idea about any of the classes they don't actually play, and most people do not play different classes.

Methinks you would be quite disappointed with the results if you actually quizzed people on this.

What is the best threat stat for a paladin?
What is the best avoidance stat for a paladin?

(give a list of weapons) what is the best tanking weapon for a paladin of the ones listed?

This seems more like a "How much do you know about Paladin Tanking?" style quiz.

Rather than ask what stats are PREFERRED, try listing only a few and asking them to RANK them.

e.g., Block vaue, stamina, spelldamage, block rating

Try making some true/false things as well:

"It's OK to be crushable, as your healers will be spamming you with heals anyway."
"Before T5, Paladins sacrifice Effective Health for Uncrushability."
"Using a mitigation weapon (such as King's Defender) is ideal for a Paladin, because the gear we use for tanking has so much spell damage."

Some of these are subtle -- our gear DOES have spelldamage, but the last one is false, as we usually seem to want want (esp at T4ish levels ) defensive stats far more than threat stats.

This would let you easily "score" the test -- some statements will demonstrate a player's lack of knowledge, etc -- AND you can explain in the answer key why a particular thign is good/bad. (E.g., the effect of 5% crushability on Prince, or the reasoning for why we go for SD weapons.)

You realize that if you actually did this, you would get probably 10% of your results from people who know what they're doing, 10% from people who have genuinely have no idea, and 80% from trolls who intentionally pick answers they believe are incorrect, right?
